Wie können wir aus dem Kopf wieder in den Körper kommen? Choreograf, Tänzer und Multitalent Tony Rizzi hat sich in seinen Stücken immer wieder mit den Momenten des täglichen Lebens als Inspirationsquelle beschäftigt. In seinem neuen Duett erforscht er mit dem Performer Alessandro Costagliola den Zusammenhang zwischen Einsamkeit, Isolation und Angst in einer konsumorientierten Gesellschaft, in der aus diesen Phänomenen Profit geschlagen wird und Fernsehwerbung für Antidepressiva zum Alltag gehört. Ausgehend vom klassisch-europäischen Ideal gleichberechtigter, durch das Band der Freude und der Freundschaft miteinander verbundener Menschen, wie es Schiller in seiner 'Ode an die Freude' formuliert hat, fragt Rizzi danach, wie und warum sich die Dinge verschlimmern und wie wir am besten durch dieses Chaos navigieren.

Die Performance in englischer Sprache feierte im Juli 22 Premiere im Mousonturm.

This performance asks the Palermo audience »How can we get out of the brain and back into the body?« Choreographer, dancer and multi-artist Tony Rizzi has repeatedly used moments of everyday life as a source of inspiration in his pieces. And his works are always adapted to the city where they are performed. In this new work, he explores with the performer Alessandro Costagliola, who comes from Palermo, the connections between loneliness, isolation and anxiety in a consumerist society that profits from these phenomena and where TV ads for anti-depressants are part of everyday life. Starting from the classical European ideal of equals bound together by the bond of joy and friendship, as formulated by Schiller in his 'Ode to Joy', Rizzi asks how and why things are getting worse and how we can best navigate through this chaos.
As a self defined world citizen, an American with Italian roots living in Germany and working around the world. He has never felt as a foreigner in any of these foreign lands. The various and eclectic musical choices for the work, reflect the differences and similarities we all have.
Together the performers are approaching these subjects with much humour, speaking not only with their  voices but with their bodies through dance. The performance will be in English.
The performance premiered in Frankfurt on July 15,2022 at Künstlerhaus Mousonturm  Duration of performance is one hour and 15 minutes..

'frei:GeTanzt im Gallus Theater' ist eine neue Tanzreihe, die der Frankfurter, der nationalen und internationalen Freien Szene gewidmet ist und vom Kulturamt der Stadt Frankfurt am Main unterstützt wird.
